Unforgettable love

Chapter 827

Chapter 827:

Seeing Oscar standing at the entrance of the store, Armand didn’t dare get out of the car for fear of being discovered. He continued to stay in the car.

After a while, he saw from afar Theresa coming out of the store. She was wearing a pure white evening dress that came to her knees, as if her slender body was wrapped in gentle moonlight. She wore her black hair slicked back casually and a lock hung low on her forehead, which only served to add to her attractiveness.

To give a more refreshing look, she had applied makeup to disguise her pale, dull face.

Oscar looked at her and said with a smile, “It’s a waste for you to lock yourself in your office looking so stunning. You should get out more often and give yourself a good chance.”

Theresa pretended to be angry at that comment, “Man, if you’re going to make fun of me again, I’m not going with you anymore.”

“Don’t do that. With your pretty face next to me, I even feel full of pride.” Oscar replied with a smile.

Theresa also broke into a smile, “With me accompanying you to events, do you think I’m of any use to you?”.

Oscar opened the car door, “Of course.”

“Then that means you have to repay my kindness.” Theresa bent down to get into the car.

Oscar didn’t immediately go to the driver’s side. He stood outside the car door, looked at Theresa and asked with a smile, “Am I not nice enough to you? What kindness do I have to pay to have your company to attend an event? Are you really going to be so mean to me?”

“I don’t care. If you don’t, then I won’t go now.” As she said that, Theresa looked like she wanted to get out of the car. In fact, she was just playing with Oscar. She had no intention of actually getting out of the car.

Oscar grabbed her and begged, “Okay, okay, okay, I owe you one.” She twisted her mouth and laughed, “At first I wanted you to get some fresh air out there, but how did it turn out that I’m the one who owes you one? There’s a saying that goes, ‘A vile person and a woman are the hardest to satisfy.’ You seem to be the woman represented here.”

Theresa looked at him with her depthless, sparkling eyes, which were deeper after makeup, “If I’m the woman described by you, does that mean you’re the vile person here?”

Oscar snorted, “I won’t tell you that.”noveldrama

This lady was too good with her mouth.

Oscar sat in the driver’s seat and it didn’t take long to harness the car and drive off. The car slowly disappeared, but Armand’s gaze was still locked in the same direction, unable to retrieve it. His soul seemed to linger outside his body for a while.

It was only a while since Theresa had left him. However, it seemed that he had already gotten back on his feet. Was it Oscar’s fault?

She used to enjoy teasing Oscar, too.

She slowly lowered her gaze. Oscar and her…

She felt a stabbing pain torturing her chest, as if a part of her heart had been ripped out, and blood dripped endlessly from the hole.

Armand did not rest all night, and had only momentary rest after driving to C-Town. He was here to see Theresa, but he hadn’t expected to see her on a date with Oscar, and dressed in such a sophisticated style to boot. Her bloodshot eyes seemed to get worse.

Suddenly, she burst into a fit of fragmented laughter. It sounded very bitter.

If she could be happy, he would have given her his blessing. Everything was already set in stone, except the actual proof in the form of divorce papers.

Certainly, she was free.

However, that did not lessen the pain she felt.

A leaf fluttered down and lodged itself in her windshield before being blown away by the wind. That leaf was similar to him, as lonely as someone who was abandoned by everyone in the world.

After lingering for a while, he finally got up the courage to start the car’s engine again and drove off.

He did not rest when he drove from City B to City C, and now that he was returning to City B once again, he could feel fatigue building up in his restless body. Despite this, this fatigue would not have broken him. The only thing that was breaking him now was the smile Theresa had flashed at another man.

He kept telling himself to give her his most generous blessing, but that did not serve to calm him at all.

He entered the house and threw the jacket on the sofa without thinking.

Elizabeth said nothing to him, for her eyes were glued to the television.

“Armand.” Elizabeth tried to show some concern as she could tell he was in a bad mood.

Armand didn’t answer as he went straight to his room and closed the door. Whenever he was home, he was a total recluse, only appearing at the dining room table when it was time to eat. He had virtually no interaction with Elizabeth at that time.

Elizabeth, who used to have a cheerful disposition, gradually lost her passion. With the way Armand was holding himself, she was in no mood either.

She took her wheelchair to the balcony. The living room balcony was adjacent to Armand’s balcony, and there was only a glass wall separating those two areas. She saw Armand sitting on the floor, with his messy shirt still on. His hair was in disarray, giving him a very forlorn look.

Elizabeth felt a twinge of concern at seeing him looking like that.

She couldn’t help but doubt herself: was she wrong?

“Theresa.” Armand’s shoulders shook ever so slightly at the utterance of that name.

Seeing Armand in such agony, Elizabeth’s eyes couldn’t help but redden. She didn’t want to stay on the balcony any longer and went to her room and locked herself in. This was not what she had wanted to see from the beginning. All she wanted was a grandchild, and she never wanted to see Armand wallow in so much pain.

Things didn’t happen the way he wanted them to. Theresa was gone, and Armand was like a living corpse devoid of any human warmth.

Knock, knock!

Someone was knocking at the door.

Elizabeth turned her head and called, “Come in.”

Bertha pushed open the door, “Your sugar pie is ready.”

“Since when did I say I want to eat that?” replied Elizabeth coolly.

Bertha furrowed her eyebrows slightly, “You just said so a moment ago.”

“I’m not in the mood to eat any sugar cakes.” Elizabeth completely forgot the fact that she had asked Bertha to make her a cake.

Bertha was unfazed by her reaction. In the past few days, similar things had happened to Elizabeth as well. Just yesterday, she had misplaced the remote control on a table in her room, but had accused Bertha of having lost it somewhere else. Bertha was no longer affected by Elizabeth’s reaction.

She turned to go back into the kitchen, but Elizabeth stopped her.

Bertha turned around, “What other instruction do you have?”

“Wait, what did I mean?” it seemed Elizabeth had something to tell Bertha, but in the blink of an eye, she seemed to forget all about it.

“Then tell me when you remember.” Bertha walked away.

Elizabeth had an anguished expression on her face-what was she going to say now?
