Unforgettable love

Chapter 839

Chapter 839:.

“Okay. Give it to me then. Right now.” Theresa was furious.

“Here you go.” Armand approached her, wanting to hug her. She pushed him away, “Leave me alone. Give me the divorce settlement tomorrow.”

After that, she turned away. Armand rushed to grab her, “Theresa…”

“Hey, your noodles are ready. If you don’t need them, you should pay for them.” Just then, the owner of the noodle restaurant came over. He served the noodles, but he couldn’t find Armand. When he came out, he saw that Armand was at the door.

Armand said to the owner, “I’ll pay for it.”

Theresa tried to shake him off, but he grabbed her tightly, “I’m hungry. Come back with me.”

“You’re hungry, go eat.” Theresa was still angry.

Armand said suggestively, “I want you to be with me.”

“Armand Bernie, do you know how nasty you are?”

“I’m sorry, Theresa.”

Theresa was quite angry. However, Armand’s sudden apology made her calm down for a few seconds. She looked at him for a moment. The pent-up anger in her heart faded quietly. Armand took her back to the noodle restaurant and saw the noodles on her table.

The owner was afraid she would sneak out. Holding up the QR code, he urged Armand to pay.

Armand took out his phone and paid. Then he tossed the phone on the table. Picking up the chopsticks and bowl, he held a piece of meat up to Theresa’s mouth, “Eat it.”

Theresa frowned, “I’ve already had dinner. I’m not hungry.”

“Take a bite.” Armand raised it to his mouth, insisting.

Theresa glared at him, “Are you out of your mind?”

“You can take me for crazy.” Armand smiled.

Theresa didn’t want the others to look at her as if she had something wrong with her.

She opened her mouth and ate his flesh.

Armand smiled and asked, “Would you like noodles?”

Theresa glared at him, “If you keep making fun of me, I’ll be mad at you.”

Armand stopped. Lowering his head, he picked up some noodles and popped them into his mouth. He asked, looking up unintentionally, “When you were in C-Town, did Oscar take very good care of you?”

Theresa didn’t know he was coyly asking, so she replied, “Yes. He’s the oldest, so he treats me very well.”

That was the truth, so she didn’t need to lie to him.

Armand still lowered his head, “What about you, have you been taking good care of him?”

“He’s good to me, so I should be good to him too.” Theresa immediately realized something was wrong, “Why are you suddenly talking about him?”.

Armand lifted his head and smiled at her, “No reason. Just asking.”noveldrama

Theresa looked away, “You’d better hurry up. Don’t talk nonsense.”

Armand had no appetite. He said, “Theresa…”

He wanted to tell her that, if she wanted to find a boyfriend after the divorce, he didn’t expect the man to be Oscar. He was much older than she was, and Theresa was still very young. They couldn’t be happy for long. She wanted Theresa to find a man her own age.

Suddenly, her phone received a message, which was a shared location information. Theresa glanced at the ID. It was Armand’s client. Armand glanced over and paid no attention.

He wanted to continue talking to Theresa about his unfinished words. Theresa asked, “Someone sent you a message a moment ago, don’t you want to take a look at it?”

Armand glanced at it and said, “No need to rush. Theresa, if you want to…” Again, before he could finish his words, a call interrupted him.

Armand frowned. He was displeased that this call came at such an inopportune time.

Theresa said, “Go ahead and answer it. It’s probably something urgent.” Armand put down the chopsticks. Reluctantly, he picked up the phone and went on to answer it. No one spoke on the other end of the line. He heard only a few noises and exclamations. Faintly, he could tell it was from his client. He looked up at Theresa, “Something could happen to my client.”

Theresa raised her eyebrows, “And?”.

Armand stood up and said, “I don’t have time to tell you the details, but I think her husband must be a cornered beast who is a little desperate right now.”

Theresa followed, “I’ll go with you.”

Armand didn’t want her to go with him, he feared danger.

“Isn’t your client a woman?” Theresa implied she was worried about him.

Armand looked at her and suddenly smiled, “Okay, come with me. You can keep an eye on me.”

Theresa replied, “I’m not watching you.”

Armand smiled and did not speak. There were many cabs in front of the hospital. Soon they stopped a cab. Armand consulted the location information he had just received. The destination was a community. He raised his eyebrows. His client told him that he had stayed at a hotel earlier.

The location seemed to be where his house was, as he could remember his property registration, which was in this community.

They soon arrived at their destination. Armand did not rush alone.

Instead, he informed the property management staff and went upstairs with him.

The staff led Armand and Theresa inside the building and asked them, “How did you know something had happened at this residence?”

Armand replied, “I’m a lawyer. The couple staying in this apartment is getting a divorce. The wife wants to put an end to her husband. She has probably caused some conflicts.”

The staff understood. Soon they arrived at the door. The staff raised their hand and knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside. The staff continued to knock on the door. After a while, someone answered from inside, “Who is it?”.

“I’m from the property management office. Your downstairs neighbor has reported leaks in your apartment. We want to check your bathroom.”

“We haven’t opened the flapper. How could there be a leak?” the man refused.

“We need to check the pipes. If you don’t want us to check them, something is wrong and you feel guilty. If the neighbor comes up and kicks the door in, you’re in trouble. You have to avoid making a fuss over a trifle like that, don’t you? Please open the door.

After a moment of silence, the door opened. The man saw two other people who were not from the property management firm, he became very alert: “Who are you two?” he asked.

Armand replied, “I’m a lawyer. I just received a call from my client. I’ve come to see her.”

“She’s not at home!” the man stood at the door, unwilling to let them in.

“Let’s take a look if she’s home or not,” said the property management office staff.

“Without my permission, if you break into my apartment, I can sue you for trespassing.” The man tried to close the door, but Armand stopped him, “Let me check if you are home or not.”

“Fuck you!” The man increased his strength and wanted to close the door. The staff of the property management office could see that the man looked quite guilty. He helped Armand push the door open. The man backed up a few steps. He angrily blurted out, “Do you have a death wish?”.

“Where’s your wife?” the staff asked.

Armand glanced at the half-closed bedroom door and wanted to approach.

The man pulled him to stop: “Stop making trouble in my apartment. Get out.”

Armand winked at Theresa. He pressed the man and let her go to the bedroom to check if anyone was there.

The staff was also sensible. He blocked the man’s path.

Theresa approached the bedroom and saw a lot of blood. A woman was lying next to the bed in a coma.

She said, “She’s in the bedroom.”

Armand and the staff gave the man a look, “Stop lying!”.

When the man was arguing with his wife, he had lost his mind. At that point, the fact that he had hit his wife was revealed, so he became angry out of embarrassment. He shoved the other two men and pulled a kitchen knife out of the kitchen, “None of you can leave here today!”.

Theresa pulled out her phone and prepared to call the police. The man realized her intention. He waved the knife toward Armand and the staff, and rushed toward Theresa to grab her phone.

“Look out, Theresa!” Armand’s eyes widened. Theresa raised her head, only to find the man lunging at her with the kitchen knife.

She was startled. At that critical moment, a black shadow passed Armand and rushed toward her. It kicked the man away. The man reacted quickly. Bumping into the bed, he raised the knife and wanted to slash at Theresa’s head.

Armand pulled her into his arms. The man cut so fast that Armand could not run with Theresa. He cut his arm. At that moment, the property management office staff called two other fellow servicemen. They went in together, tackled the man to the ground and knocked the knife out of his hand.

“It’s my family’s business. It’s none of your business. Let go of me,” the man shouted as his face was pressed to the ground.

“We’ve called the police,” the staff said.

Theresa was still frightened. She looked very pale from what had just happened. Seeing blood staining Armand’s white shirt, she snapped back to reality, “Are you hurt?”

Armand took a look at his arm and frowned slightly, “Nothing. It’s not serious.”

They didn’t know how deep the wound was, but it was bleeding badly. Soon, half of his sleeve was stained with blood.

“Let’s go to the hospital, Armand.” Theresa was worried about him and felt sorry for him. She took his other hand.

Just then the police arrived. The property management office staff must have reported that someone was injured at the scene. Medical personnel followed them.
